I am really impressed with the quality of sound from this restored unit, it's as if I received it right from the manufacturer. er
Although I haven't used all the functions the unit offers, I was very happy this unit came with a four digit tape counter which is handy when dubbing music from other devices. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a quality used cassette tape deck within this price range, and the unit arrived safely packed with few scatches that are hardly noticeable. My appreciation to Porter Electronics for making an old unit function like it's brand new, it makes my forty year old cassette tapes sound so sweet, thanks for a few more years of listening to some wonderful cassette recorded music so long ago.

Bought this unit a month ago, it plays and records great. All bells and whistles function. Great sound and a good facial appearance. Very little minor scratches. I'm happy with the unit.

A fanatastic tape deck for home audio!
I recently purchased this sony tape deck and hooked it up to my stereo system ( also sony ) and it plays beautifully, no problems whatsoever and it is so simple to operate you really don't need the users manual, sound quality is also great, I played some old tapes from the 90's and there was no hiss, hence, there is nothing for me to complain about. I highly recommend this tape deck to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive way to record and play cassette tapes with great sound. Update: (5/9/13 ) I am extremely happy to report that after 2 years my tape deck is still fully functional and I have not experienced any problems. I have recorded over a 100 cassette tapes on this deck and sometimes when I am playing them, they sound so good and clear, I have to do a double take to make sure I am not listening to a CD. I also play this deck an average 4 hours per week. Buyers, don't be afraid to take a chance on this Sony tape deck.
